Independent SFD Verification

GLJ Report

• GLJ Petroleum Consultants, in a report with an effective date of October 31, 2005, reviewed the oil & gas related activity in two geographic areas that were the subject of separate SFD surveys.

• The North Peace River Arch area, in Alberta and BC, was surveyed by NXT in 1997 and again in 2000.

• 146 drilled or licensed wells were within SFD recommended areas and anomalies

• 56 were drilled prior to the NXT 2000 survey, totaling 37 BCF of gas

• 90 were drilled after the 2000 survey, totaling 256 BCF of gas

• 73 of the 90 wells produced gas, for a drilling success rate of 81%

• A large portion of this production came from the Ladyfern pool, one of the most significant new discoveries in North America, which was identified by NXT before it was found

• The Greater Green River Basin in Wyoming was surveyed by NXT in 1998 and 1999.

• 233 drilled or licensed wells were within SFD recommended areas and anomalies

• 50 were drilled prior to NXT’s 1999 survey, totaling 6.4 BCF of gas and 93 MSTB of oil

• 183 were drilled after the 1999 survey, totaling 130 BCF of gas and 1770 MSTB of oil

• 175 of the 183 wells produced oil or gas, for a drilling success rate of 95.6%

• The most significant find was the East Jonah prospect area, which was undeveloped at the time of the surveys

Report by Geoff Carrington, Ph.D., P. Geoph.

• “The SFD and its application” provides a detailed overview of the advantages of utilizing SFD technology as a first-pass tool in the exploration cycle. It discusses the methods and procedures used by NXT in data acquisition and interpretation.

• As a result of studies conducted by five independent third parties, the success rate of SFD in detecting known hydrocarbon accumulations varies from over 60% to nearly 90%. The report concludes, “The time and cost savings realized when using the SFD as the first step in evaluating a large block of land can amount to years and many millions of dollars.”
