Director, Chairman , Chief Executive Officer and Inventor of the SFD Technology
Age 57
George Liszicasz, President and CEO, was born in Hungary where he received his degree in Electronics in 1975, and later attended the University of British Columbia, studying physics and general sciences. Mr. Liszicasz is an inventor of a number of novel technologies, including electronic control systems, medical lasers and geophysical instruments. In 1992 he identified a phenomenon that relates to the detection of subsurface stress changes in rocks. The technology, Stress Field Detector, (or “SFD®”) that sprung from this discovery is being utilized by NXT to assist oil and gas companies in focusing their exploration efforts.
Mr. Liszicasz has been NXT’s Chairman and CEO since the company’s inception, and his primary responsibilities are to oversee all operations and to further develop the SFD® technology.
Age 50
Mr. Steedman joined NXT in December 2005 as Vice President of Operations. Mr. Steedman holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and an MBA, both from the University of Calgary. Prior to joining NXT, Mr. Steedman was the president of his own management consulting firm. From 2001 to 2003 he was President and CEO of Wireless Networks and was responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company. From 1999 to 2001, he was Senior Manager of Business Development with Nortel Networks. In this role he was responsible for developing Nortel’s unlicensed wireless strategy, identifying strategic partners, developing relationships with key customers and negotiating OEM agreements with key partners.

Mr. Leavens joined NXT as V-P Finance and CFO in July 2011, and is a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of experience that has included senior financial roles within the oil and gas exploration and production, as well as services sectors. Mr. Leavens was Chief Financial Officer of Result Energy Inc. (a public exploration and production company which traded on the TSX Venture exchange) from 2003 until November 2009, after which he was involved in a variety of consulting roles prior to joining NXT. Mr. Leavens obtained a B.A. and M.Acc from the University of Waterloo, subsequent to which he articled with KPMG LLP, where he obtained his CA designation in 1989, and became a Senior Manager in the Toronto audit services practice.

Grafton Withers joined NXT in December 2011 as Vice-President, Sales & Marketing. Mr. Withers has extensive experience in managing international operations, having had a 23 year, senior management career with the Schlumberger group and with its joint venture with Dow Chemical. While there, he assumed increasingly important management positions over his career working in 15 countries. Mr. Withers managed numerous operational entities, the logistics, procurement and manufacturing and the international sales group for Schlumberger's Dowell company. He later went on to become Vice President with general management responsibility for all aspects of another of the company’s six major divisions. Mr. Withers earned his MBA at Syracuse University and received a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Physics from Duke University.
