+ George Liszicasz

GEORGE LISZICASZ
Director , Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

George Liszicasz, President and CEO, was born in Hungary where he received his degree in Electronics in 1975, and later attended the University of British Columbia, studying physics and general sciences.  Mr. Liszicasz is an inventor of a number of novel technologies, including electronic control systems, medical lasers and geophysical instruments. In 1992 he identified a phenomenon that relates to the detection of subsurface stress changes in rocks.  The technology, Stress Field Detector, (or “SFD®”) that sprung from this discovery is being utilized by NXT to assist oil and gas companies in focusing their exploration efforts.

Mr. Liszicasz has been NXT’s Chairman and CEO since the company’s inception, and his primary responsibilities are to oversee all operations and to further develop the SFD® technology.


+ Brian Kohlhammer

Director since December 2004
Age 48

Mr. Kohlhammer is a Chartered Accountant with over twenty years experience in financial management reporting including four years in public accounting and eighteen years financial forecasting, analysis and reporting.

Since December 2004, Mr. Kohlhammer has been serving as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Delphi Energy Corp., a public junior oil and gas company traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange and based in Calgary, Alberta.  

Mr. Kohlhammer is the financial expert and Chair of NXT’s Audit Committee and a member of the Governance Committee.


+ John Agee

Director since July 2011
Age 63

Mr. Agee recently retired from a successful career, during which he spent over 25 years in senior executive positions with three separate prominent US families. Most recently he worked with the Carlson Family in Minneapolis, MN (owners of Radisson, Country Inns and Suites, and TGI Friday's). Prior to that, Mr. Agee worked for the Steve Case Family in Washington, DC (Steve Case is the founder of America Online), and the Gerald Rauenhorst Family in Minneapolis (the Rauenhorst family is the owner of Opus Corporation, a national real estate development company.) During this 25 year period Mr. Agee also served on numerous private, public, and non-profit Boards. Mr. Agee currently consults part-time in matters related to wealth management and is a CPA (inactive).  Mr. Agee resides in Minnesota, and holds a MBA from the University of Minnesota and a BA from St. John's University, Collegeville, MN


+ M.S. (Mickey) Abougoush

Age 64

Mr. Abougoush is a professional engineer with over 40 years of experience in the petroleum industry, largely in technical and executive positions. He is currently the president of Teknica Overseas Ltd., an international consulting company.   Mr. Abougoush is a board member of Wellpoint Systems Inc., a reporting issuer in Canada, as well as a board member of a number of private companies. 

Mr. Abougoush is a member of NXT’s Audit and Governance Committees.



+ Charles V. Selby

Director since January 2006
Age 54

Mr. Selby is both a lawyer and professional engineer. He is the president of Caledonian Royalty Corporation and Caledonian Global Corporation. He is also the Chairman and CEO of Canadian Star Energy Limited. He was formerly an officer of Pengrowth Corporation, which administers Pengrowth Energy Trust, a large North American energy royalty trust.   Mr. Selby is the Executive Chairman of Montana Exploration Co.  Mr. Selby is also a director of Bridge Resources Corp., Vecta Energy Corp., and Qwest Investment Management Corp., all of which are reporting issuers in Canada.  

Mr. Selby is a member of NXT’s Audit, Compensation and Disclosure Committees.


+ Thomas Valentine

Director since November 2007
Age 49

Mr. Valentine is a Partner with Macleod Dixon LLP, where he has practiced law, both as a Barrister & a Solicitor, since his call to the Bar in 1987. He is a member of the firm’s Global Resources Practice Group and is involved in energy and energy related matters throughout the Middle East, North Africa, the CIS, Asia and South America.

Mr. Valentine is also a member of the Board of Directors of Calvalley Petroleum Inc. and Veraz Petroleum Ltd. In 2003 and 2004 Mr. Valentine was Senior Counsel (Projects) to Qatar Petroleum, the national oil and gas company of the State of Qatar. Mr. Valentine holds a BA from the University of British Columbia, a LLB from Dalhousie University, and a LLM from the London School of Economics.  

Mr. Valentine is the Chair of NXT’s Governance Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee.


+ Suzanne Loov

Corporate Secretary since December 2009
Age 43

Ms. Loov is a lawyer with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia which she obtained in 1993. From May 1994 to July 2002 Ms. Loov practiced law with Armstrong Perkins Hudson LLP (“APH” - formerly Ogilvie & Company LLP), a boutique securities law firm, first as an associate and later as a partner. Following the merger of APH and Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (“BLG”), Ms. Loov joined BLG as a partner in the firm’s corporate finance group and worked there until October 2005. While practicing law Ms. Loov has been an officer and director of several public and private companies.
