Colombia’s oil & gas industry has a high potential for future growth. Large blocks of land in proven hydrocarbon basins have gone unexplored. These areas can be difficult to access and typically have little to no data coverage.
NXT has identified the areas of Colombia that face these particular issues. NXT has studied the geology of the basins and found many similarities to the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, where we have extensive experience. In particular, the Llanos and Putumayo-Caguan basins (200,000 km2 combined) still hold vast underexplored areas.
There is currently a limited capacity for seismic contractors to fulfill Technical Evaluation Area (TEA) work commitments. NXT has successfully received regulatory approval for SFD as an alternative method to meet regional 2D seismic commitments.
NXT can fulfill regulatory work commitments, meet tight timelines and enable the selection of the most prospective exploration blocks within TEAs.
